Fourth trip : South Korea Part 2

Today plan is visiting my friend in Daegu and went to Gyeongju city. When I told Mark that I will go to Daegu. He was shocked and asked me that why Daegu? There is nothing there. Daegu is an industrial city. I was shocked too but I already booked a hotel and my intention before came here is to visit other cities, not only Seoul. I woke up early and went to Seoul Express Bus Terminal. This station is also subway station so it’s very convince for foreigners who those who want to take a bus. There was one man helped me to find the ticket booth. Korean always nice J I bought a ticket to  East Daegu. The price was quiet high. It cost me 17000 won about 20$ but when I get in the bus. The price is appropriate.  The seat is very big and I have enough space for my legs and backpack. It took about 4 and half hours to Daegu city and there is 2 bus stop so you need to make sure where do you want to go. The first bus stop is West Daegu Station and then about 15 minutes. The bus arrived at East Daegu Station. 

Attention: Bus’s driver cannot speak English and all the information is written down in Korean. 

When I arrived there I tried to contact my friend but I didn’t have internet so I went to a public payphone. I put 100 won in it but I didn’t know how to do. Well I lost that 100 won with nothing. It was the first time I felt lost in Korea but then someone shouted my name. It is him Lee Chan oppa; my Korean friend the one who invited me to go to Daegu.

It was 6 pm so we need to go to my hostel that situated in central Daegu. I thought that it was a little bit hard to find my hostel but the hostel is nice and the reservation is friendly. Most of people who stay here are Korean and the fact that I found only one foreigner in Daegu. I went to the city or people called it downtown. It was like Myeongdong. Many shops, Lotte world, Lotte young plaza. Well Daegu has everything that I want! I had a chance to eat Korean tradition food and the menu that I choose is Kimchi curry. Don’t ask me how much I love kimchi J Then my friend come and pick me again at 11 pm.

We went outside for Samgyupsal. It is another popular Korean meat dish like BBQ. The next place was Suseongmot Pond. This is one of the most famous park in Daegu. Unfortunately we arrived there very late. Lee Chan and I walked around the pond and it was really cold and the pond was freezing! The reason why Lee Chan oppa drove for a long time to Suseongmot Pond is because we want to eat Samgyupsal here but the restaurant was closed already. I was not surprised why well it was actually 1 am! So Lee Chan oppa drove back to downtown and then we found another restaurant and it was full of people.


Do not ask me about taste. Well I can say that it is the most delicious food I ever had in Korea! I just love Samgyupsal. I went back to hostel at 2 am and I had an appointment with Lee Chan oppa at 7 am. Wish me luck J

One bad thing about my hostel is a heater is not working L and it is -4 Celsius outside, hope
