We started a very first trip on my birthday and our destination is Ayutthaya, one of the most famous place for tourists. We went there by train which left Hualamphong station or bangkok railway station at 9.25 am and arrived Ayutthaya at 11.27 am. The cost was free (only for thai people)
When we arrived there, we had to across river by boat (5 baht) to the main city and then rent bicycle. The bicycle shops is near the river and they also provided a map which is easily to understand.
First destination is Wat Mahathat about 3 km from the bicycle shop. We had to pay 10 baht in order to see ruined temple.
First destination is Wat Mahathat about 3 km from the bicycle shop. We had to pay 10 baht in order to see ruined temple.
Next destination is Wat Ratchaburana. This temple is opposite Wat Mahathat but unfortunately it is now under-constructing. So we moved to another temple instead which is Wat Thammikarat. The things that made this temple different other temple is the large ceramic Singha which believed to protect the temple.
Next is Wihan phra mongkhon bophit and Wat phra si sanphet. Both of them are situated in the same area, it does not has broader. Wihan phra mongkhon bophit has the most famous large bronze Buddha image, named Phra Mongkhong Bophit, which is close to 17 meters high. For Wat phra si sanphet, we had to pay 10 baht Wat phra si sanphet is also known as the temple of the royal family, no monks lived there.
The last temple seemed to be far from each other. It isWat Lokyasutha. It took about 10 minutes by bicycle. This one is famous for reclining buddha image. They said that it used to have temple covered but it was ruined in the past.
This is the end of our trip. I hope you will enjoy blogging!!
